So, yesterday was the big event… I went to E-Werk around 14.30 pm and was in the first row. In front of me was a security guy who was from my town, as I later found out. He was very kind to me, even asked me, if I could take some pictures with his cell phone as he’s not allowed to do so.
Taking pictures… I love taking pictures during a concert. The Canon PowerShot is simply fabs! And I was in the first row… did I mention that before? After the gig a girl came to me, asking if I could send her a couple of pictures via e-mail. She must have watched my pictures on the small screen.
Kevin Costner is a great performer! Eventually, some managers came close to me, asking “Would you like to dance with Kevin?” I was surprised. Later I found out that they were talking to an old lady behind me. But she hesitated… if she hadn’t wanted, I’d have taken the chance.
Anyway, I was so lucky this evening. F. was working on that day and he was giving me first-hand information like when the band is going to give autographs etc. Even the security guy was giving me information, because once he knew I was having the script with me, he tried to support me as best as he could.
Eventually, I did not meet with Kevin, but I had a long talk with several band members who also signed my CD albums.
When I saw Bobby standing next to me, I told him how great the show was and that I’m having a script with me. He even asked me what it was about… my first pitch.
He said the story is cool, but it sounded very superficial to me in a way. He said, he cannot take the script, because they’re not allowed to, but once I mentioned the release form in it, his opinion changed very quickly. I gave it to Bobby, who wanted to give it to Kevin’s manager. I had several worries about it and F. told me to ask Kevin’s old friend John, if he will take it to Kevin himself.
As soon as John left the autograph corner, I asked him, if he could make sure that Bobby will give it to Kevin. He instantly knew what I was referring to “You mean this black briefcase?” Yes!… So the news must have circulated quite fast.
Since Bobby was giving autographs, John took the folder, giving me the same information that they’re actually not allowed to take any scripts. I instantly referred to the release form again. John looked inside, read the release form and took the script with him.
He said, he’d totally understand my situation… he knows it’s very hard to get a script read by somebody. I told him, that I’d really appreciate any kind of response, if he likes it or not.
To me, it was a success! Let’s hope for a response soon!
